<GM> [The intrepid party stands before the west gate of the city of
Stavograd.  Dust rises from the still-quaking center of town and
reflects light in the late afternoon glow.  Some of the surviving
villagers can be seen running south toward the Seven Temples camp.]
<GM> [Screams and crashing can be heard from the south side of
Stavograd.]
* Demota is now known as Charlotte
* Roland says softly, from RIGHT BEHIND Nyyx, "You called, Lady
Natalia?"
<GM> [SESSION BEGIN!]
* Nyyx is still running behind Skip. "Ah, Roland. Good to see you."
* Charlotte keeps on going. "Oh, hey"
<Nyyx> I don't remember to have called, but you always seem to have
impeccable timing.
<Roland> I do my best, with Boccob's help.
<Roland> Where are we heading, exactly?
<Nyyx> Reportedly toward a monster in the southern part of town, by
the graveyard.
<Roland> I see.  How far until we can see it, then?
<GM> [The party races south down the plains about a half-mile where
the city wall curves to the east.  The beast can be heard stomping
around on the other side but can't be seen.  Screaming can be heard.]
* Roland slows the group down for a moment and lays healing hands on
the ladies.
<Nyyx> Thank you, Roland.
<Roland> I live to serve.
<Charlotte> Thanks!
<Roland> I need to get within sight of this beast to identify it.
<Nyyx> Understood.
* Roland runs in the general direction of the beast, letting Nyyx
have point.
* Nyyx continues homing in on the stomping beast.
<GM> [Nyyx and Roland run up to the city wall.  It is still intact
and blocks their path.]
* Nyyx glances at Roland. "Will you need help up?"
<Roland> Ah... erm.  I'm afraid I'm not much for the climbing, as
such.
<Roland> We usually have ladders in the library, after all.
<Nyyx> Right. I can help you over the wall. Would you like a lift?
* Roland laughs.
<Roland> If you will.
<Nyyx> Anyone else need help?
<Charlotte> I'm fine
* Charlotte flies over the wall
* Nyyx offers her back to Roland. "Hang on tightly."
* Roland climbs on sheepishly.
* Nyyx smirks and promptly scales the wall, setting Roland down
safely on the other side.
<GM> [The trio can now see the beast about 700' into the city.  It
looms above the buildings, a shadow in the late day light.  It
appears to be comprised mostly of earth dotted with large rocks.  Its
form is roughly humaniod with a hunched back and overlarge hands and
head.  It's face is impassive and cold.
<GM> ]
* Nyyx studies the monster for a minute. "I'm not sure I see the
family resemblance."
<Charlotte> Maybe it got its looks from its mother.
<Nyyx> Maybe if she wasn't an earth elemental. That's what this one
looks like, but I think it's been twisted somehow.
<Roland> Corrupted, actually.
<Roland> By what... hard to say.
* Nyyx nods. "What's its weak point?"
<Roland> Best guess?  Legs.
<Nyyx> Reasonable enough. Are we ready?
<Roland> It's top heavy.  Hit it until it falls down, then hit it
until it stops trying to get back up.
<Charlotte> Any high-up spots I could probably hit with my bow in the
meantime?
<Roland> I'd try for the hip.
* Roland raises his hands, casts a quick spell, and vanishes.
<GM> [Behind the party, more villagers run down the plain toward the
Seven Temples Camp.]
<GM> [Elsewhere, Biff dodges and weaves along the north end of town,
searching for civilians.]
<Charlotte> GOt it
* Roland murmurs another spell after he vanishes, and now he can see
through your clothes. And your skin. HE CAN SEE YOUR CHAKRA PATHWAYS.
YOU ARE WITHIN THE RANGE OF HIS DIVINATION.
<GM> [Tobleah can be seen rushing toward the camp with an unconscious
Sirrus and her animal companions in tow.]
<GM> [Biff locates several groups of lost and bewildered villagers
trying to navigate the shaking streets.]
<Roland> * Biff makes like a dog and points the way.
<Roland> <Biff> Like, meow, and shit.  You're supposed to go THIS
way.  Straight to the west gate, go out, and head south until you
find the cleric.
<GM> [The villagers stop.]  Villagers: "What?  Are you a talking
cat?"
<Roland> <Biff> No, I'm a messenger from god.
<Roland> <Biff> Now hurry up and head for the west gate.  I've got a
few thousand more of y'all to save, and not a whole lot of time to do
it in. 
<GM> [They turn and start running in the direction of the west gate.]
<Roland> <Biff> That's more like it.
* Roland runs off to find some more gullible humans.
* Charlotte looks for a good place that might be good for ambushing
the thing
