[It is later that night, and Our Heroes are still in the inn, resting up from the battle with the Necromancer. Everyone has retired to his or her respective room.] [Session Start!] * Seylin comes walking down the hallway and knocks quietly on the door to Alcinoe's room. * Alcinoe speaks up from the other side, not opening it just yet. "Who is it?" It's Seylin. May I talk to you for a minute? Please? * Alcinoe sounds a little surprised. "Seylin?" Pause. "Sure, one sec." [There's a moment, then Alcinoe opens the door from the other side. She's only partially dressed and looks rather tired, in a way that suggests she hasn't and likely won't sleep anytime soon. "Howdy. Ya wanna come in?"] If you don't mind. Thank you. * Seylin steps in. She's still dressed in tunic, overtunic and leggings, and looks like she hasn't been able to sleep, either. * Alcinoe closes the door after Sey and gestures for her to have a seat on the chair. Soon after, she flops onto her bed. "How ya doin'?" * Seylin sits. "I'm okay." She doesn't sound okay, though. "How about you?" * Alcinoe gives a tiny, crooked smile at that. "Ah guess Ah'm okay too, then, if ya bein' okay is like that. What's botherin' ya?" Um. It's... well... First I wanted to see how you were doing. * Alcinoe shrugs, then sighs. "Ah've been better, an' Ah've been worse. This ain't gonna break me." * Seylin nods. "Yeah... it could've gone better. A lot of things could've gone better. Istvan was right." Yeah? 'bout what? That we really aren't a team. We're just a bunch of people who're just good enough at what we do to keep us out of trouble. But we're really not coordinated. If we had been, maybe we could've stopped him! Or... I don't know. It just seems like everything I do lately isn't enough... * Alcinoe gives a small smile. "Bad people ain't s'posed ta get away, right? Same thing Ah've been wonderin' about this time, but Ah didn't blame ya guys." Ah was wonderin' why none of y'all seemed ta care, though. I care! I really do. I just don't know what to do about it. * Alcinoe shrugs helplessly. She brings a bare knee up to set her chin on. Do you think there's someone we can ask? To track him, or something? So he can't set up another operation like that. * Alcinoe frowns, thinking. Ah s'pose... well, Ah was thinkin' about stoppin' at a loremaster's place. Ah wanna get that rock we found in the horde identified. Ah guess we could ask 'er if she can track the necromancer at all. That'd be something, at least. I can do something right this time... * Alcinoe furrows her brow. "Ya don't think yer doin' the right thing?" * Seylin shakes her head sadly. "I... really messed up with Tia and Kenji." * Alcinoe frowns a little, then makes an ah. Ya didn't tell 'er what Kenji thought ya should've. Ah had that talk with him. I thought he was gonna talk to her about it later. But I should've... I don't know. But Tia's sad and Kenji thinks I don't trust him. It's all wrong! * Alcinoe shakes her head. "It's all wrong, but it ain't all yer fault." Kenji don't realize what he was doin', either. Even if Tia understood, everythin' would still hurt. But I let them both down, didn't I? Kinda, but ya did what ya thought was best, right? Not just what was easiest. I don't like seeing my friends sad, but I wanted to help. So I did talk to Tia about it. But did it really do any good? * Alcinoe sighs, and shakes her head. "Ah haven't known y'all that long, ta be honest. But even if Ah did, only she could tell ya." * Seylin nods. "Yeah, you're right." * Seylin smiles hesitantly. "We get along okay, don't we?" * Alcinoe blinks. "Ah hope so. Why?" Y'mean me an' you? Yeah. For a little while, I was afraid you didn't like me very much. But that was just me being silly, I think. Oh. * Alcinoe blinks again. Well, Ah don't think we're best friends or anythin'. Ah'm still feelin' like an outsider, ya know? But Ah don't dislike ya. * Seylin smiles a little. "I'm glad to hear that. And I know what it's like, feeling like an outsider." She wingtwitches slightly. * Alcinoe grins. "Ain't a new feelin' ta me, neither. Though Ah don't have no wings ta show for it." * Seylin giggles a little. "They're fun, though. Anyhow. We've got lots of time to get to know each other and all. I'm really glad you joined us." * Alcinoe nods. "If ya say so. Ah'm glad, too. Ah think." You think? Yeah. Ah sorta left what might be mah best friend ta join this house. While Ah think it's been good for mah sanity, Ah worry about 'im. Kardos? You think something's going to happen to him? But you go back and talk to him a lot, right? Yeah, well... While 'e didn't tell me not ta do this, Ah know it's probably gonna be a little hard on him. The guy had enough trouble as is. Well, if he ever decided he wanted to join our house, he's welcome to. But like you said, that's his decision. And even if you aren't in the same house, you can be there for him when he needs you, right? * Alcinoe nods. "Yeah, but... Well, it's somethin' ta think about." 'e never will, anyhow. Kardos keeps 'imself deliberately poor. * Seylin blinks, but doesn't ask why. Anyway, that help? Ya feel better? If yer really wonderin' about Tia, ya might's well talk ta 'er. * Seylin smiles. "It did help. Thank you. And Tia's already asleep, I think. It sure sounded like snoring coming from her room, and I don't want to wake her." So I'll do it when she's awake. * Alcinoe nods. "Oh." An' about workin' as a team? Ah'm sure that'll come eventually. If ya really wanna do that, though, Ah can try ta help... but it'd take everyone's cooperation. I'd do it! And I'm sure I can get most of the others to agree. * Alcinoe smiles slightly. "Sure. Ya do that. Kenji would probably like that, too." * Seylin nods. "Okay. Thanks again, Alcinoe."
