Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions. If your question isn't addressed here, feel free to ask me about it.

Q. Under what conditions may I use the artwork on your website?

A. Much of the artwork I display on this site is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 United States License. Generally, this means:

  1. You MUST give me credit AND include a link back to http://www.mahamari.com if you choose to use an image of mine anywhere, including for any non-digital uses.

  2. You may NOT use my artwork for ANY commercial purpose. Under no circumstances can you use my artwork for gain or profit.

  3. You may NOT alter, transform, or build upon the work. This includes cropping and resizing.

  4. Please do not hotlink any of the files on my server, as it eats up our bandwidth.

There are, of course, exceptions to this rules above, such as if I give you express written permission to do otherwise. Please ask if you are ever in doubt. Thank you for your consideration!

Q. How do I commission you for an artwork project?

A. Please contact me and let me know what you are looking for, and I will be happy to answer any questions you might have. If I can take on your project, I will gladly provide you with a price quote.

Q. Can I link to your website?

A. Yes, you are welcome to link to my website at http://www.mahamari.com. Feel free to use the 200x40 pixel link banner available at the bottom of each page, but please upload the banner to your own server when using it. Please do not link directly to other internal files. Thank you!

The Evolution of Mahamari.com, 1994-present

Current layout, Version 6.0, MAHAMARI.com. A more streamlined version in darker neutrals, incorporating open-source gallery software for data management. Ermina is featured in the banner, and tastyfresh factory has since become the name of our family design business. This version was launched on December 31, 2007.

Version 5.0, tastyfresh factory! - Mahamari.com. I've kept the burger joint theme, just because I like burgers. (The artwork featured at the top included Seedoo the Maintenance Imp, Urashi, and Ferret. Elris was taking a break from mascot work.) Hopefully this version was easier to navigate than the last. It was launched on August 10, 2005.

Version 4.0, Mahamari.com. Titled baagaaland, the layout was mostly orange and white, featuring a burger joint type of theme. It lasted from July 19, 2004 to August 10, 2005.

Version 3.0, Mahamari.com. Titled Elris' Picnic, this happy-looking gray and orange layout lasted from October 2001 to September 20, 2003.

Version 2.0 & 2.1, Mahamari's Realm: Atlantis Echo. This frames layout went through two sub-versions: the blue winter version with a snowflake background, and a purple spring version with a sakura background. I attempted to create a feminine-looking site to capture Elris' (my mascot's) personality, and the artwork was mermaid-themed. It stuck around from June 26, 2000 to October 2001.

Version 1.0, Mahamari's Realm. The simplistic blue and white castle-look layout, created while I was obsessed with painting castles, was up from January 2000 to June 26, 2000.

Mahamari's Universe: Boku no Uchuu, hosted at Geocities, existed during the height of the frames/black craze, from 1998-2000. It had a Castlevania MIDI as BGM. How cool is that?

Mahamari's Homepage, hosted at AOL, was created in 1994 but was did not grace the 'Net until summer 1996 to 1998. Bask in the glory of old school default gray!
